Hadassah combines state-of-the-art medical and surgical care with top-level interdisciplinary research and development activity. Hadassah's physicians take their patients' problems into the laboratories, grapple with their predicaments, consider possible solutions and test hypotheses through the full range of clinical trials to enhance their diagnosis and treatment. Hadassah's physicians and scientists are actively engaged in a wide variety of extensive basic and clinical research projects, looking for new ways to treat current conditions. More than half of all hospital research conducted in Israel is conducted at Hadassah. Each department incorporates research units and the hospital houses many interdisciplinary research centers.
